Infant - Weekly Email

Dear Parent/Carer,

Year 1 Sports Festival:  The children had lots of fun trying out many new and different  sporting activities. They were fantastic representatives of our school - well done everyone!

Royal Wedding Event: This will be taking place on Friday 18th May with children from the main school spending the afternoon up at our Junior School. Children across the school may come to school dressed in Red, White & Blue to celebrate the occasion.

Number Calculations Morning: Please see the attached letter for our upcoming Number Calculations Morning for parents in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.

School Website: We have recently upgraded our school website and have some new functionality including an app version of the website that is more smart phone friendly. We are still developing the content and formatting of the information available via the app but if you would like to look at this you can download TheSchoolApp from PlayStore or Appstore then just search for Chalfont St Giles Village School or look for schools near Chalfont - more details available here on the website. Suggestions for Groups and feedback is very much welcomed - please send in comments to the School Office.

Slapped Cheek: We have been made aware of a case of slapped cheek in the school.  As the rash has come out it is no longer infectious and the child feels well.  If you are concerned and would like more information, please see the NHS information on this condition.

Eco-Warrior: Become an Eco-Warrior Parent

We are looking for parents to join our Eco-Warriors.  If you have a DBS and can spare an hour once a term to help with our Eco campaigning please do get in touch. It really is a lovely way to involve yourself with the school and spend time with the children.

We do lots of fun things including; making bird feeders, gardening, litter picking and raising awareness at school. If you have some specialist knowledge to share or if you just have some time to offer we would love you to join us and help to take our message out into our community.

For more information please get in touch with the office or Mrs Stainbank.

Accident-Free in CSG:

A thank you & an apology

Thanks Amethyst for patrolling last week. We do owe an apology to one school parent, whose details were mistakenly included in last week's newsletter: Silver Mazda ****NTM. They are a committed school run safety advocate and a regular school volunteer and we're only too pleased to put the record straight that they were not parking inconsiderately at pick up time.

We really appreciate the open communication on school run safety. It's great that parents are also calling the school about family members who do need to drive into the Safety Zone for very valid reasons, so volunteers are aware.

This week, the vehicles below were parking inconsiderately on School Lane:

Grey Peugeot ****PYH

Black Hyundai ****VUJ

Grey Ford ****XGD

Black Peugeot ****VYL
