Nursery School Admissions

Admissions to the Nursery School should be made directly to the School Office, Chalfont St Giles Infant School and Nursery, School Lane, Chalfont St Giles, Bucks, HP8 4JJ. Pupil admission numbers are 30 in total for the morning and afternoon nursery sessions.

Infant School and Junior School Admissions

Application for all Infant School and Junior School places are dealt with by the Admissions Team at Buckinghamshire County Council (Bucks CC or BCC), County Hall, Aylesbury.

Although both schools are working together as a hard federation, there are still separate admission processes for each school. 

Chalfont St Giles Infant School - 2 form entry - school is allocated up to 60 places by the admissions process. Pupil admission numbers are 30 per class.

Chalfont St Giles Junior School - 2 form entry - school is allocated up to 60 places by the admissions process. Pupil admission numbers are 30 per class.

Places are allocated using criteria which include residence in the school’s catchment area, distance from school and whether or not the child already has a sibling attending the school. Chalfont St Giles Junior school has links with Chalfont St Giles Infant School which is factored into the admissions process. More information can be obtained by contacting the Admissions Team at Bucks CC with regard to your child’s chances of being allocated a place.

Moving up to Secondary School in 2015

Useful Dates

Deadlines for children moving to Reception, Year 3 and Year 7 in September 2015 are taken from  the Bucks CC website.

Starting School or Moving up to Junior School in September 2015

For children starting at the Infant School (starting in Reception in September 2015) - You will be able to apply online for a primary school place from 10am on 4 November 2014. The latest date for making an online application is 3pm on 15 January 2015Please make sure that you allow enough time to complete your online application.

To apply online all you need is a username (this is your email address) and a password.  You will also be able to set up a ‘secret’ question and answer just in case you forget your password.  Applying online is simple to use safe and secure.Please remember to keep your password safe as you will need this to log into your account on the 16 April 2015 to accept the school place we offer for your child.

If you are not able to apply online, you can ask your child’s Buckinghamshire primary school or us to send you a paper application. This must be returned to us by 3pm on 15 January 2014 or for those children in Year 2 at an infant school you can return it to your child’s current school by 3pm on 15 January 2015.

Moving up to Secondary School in September 2015

Children born between 1 September 2003 and 31 August 2004 will be moving up to secondary school to begin Year 7 in September 2015.

The deadline for applying for a secondary school place was 31 October 2013. Parents who did not apply by this date should ask us to send them a paper form urgently as it is no longer possible to apply online.

For children moving up to Secondary School (starting in Year 7 in September 2015) BCC Transfer Test dates below are taken from the Bucks CC website:

  • More information about the 2015 entry process will be available closer to the registration time.9 September 2014 (Tuesday) - preparation test for all pupils in Buckinghamshire primary schools.
  • 11 September 2014 (Thursday) – Transfer Test for pupils who sat the preparation test on 9 September.
  • 17 October 2014 – test results released for pupils who sat the test according to the above timescale.
  • 24 October 2014 - deadline for parents to hand in paper form for Secondary School place
  • 31 October 2014 - deadline for parents to submit online form for Secondary School place
  • 2 March 2015 - Offer letters are posted to Buckinghamshire residents who made a paper application and those who have not been offered their preferred school. If you applied online you can log on to see which school we have offered and we’ll also send you an email to let you know.
  • 7 July 2015 - Children go to Induction Day at their new secondary school.
